Air Conditioner

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How can I tell if my 84 GTI had air?
Bought an 84 GTI which had the heater
removed as well as anything to lighten it for
auto cross.  I want to reinstall the heater
but want to know if I should use one from a
non-air or an air car.  Radiator had been
changed out w an aluminum no-air
radiator.  No indication of any air plumbing
under the hood but things like the washer
bottle are gone too, dash was swapped for
a cab dash and no ducts too so no help
there.
Any way I can tell otherwise?  Any holes in
the firewall, etc.?  Any other telltale signs?
Many thanks!

With that amount of modification to that car, hard to say. But I don't see any reason you couldn't get a heater back into the car, without the AC unit and components.
