With that kind of struggling, I'd check the fuel relay. Cheap, quick, and easy. For a Dodge, I'd go to a junk yard and take one off another Dodge ( match the facings) and then put the new "old" one in the spot and use it and see what happens. Obviously I'd take the newest looking relay out of the junker. I've done this several times for my car. Few issues

Alternator failed to keep battery charged. Engine uses electricity and battery died.

Your truck doesn't use the battery ad a primary, that being said tho, is you have a weak or corroded connection there will be problems. Three actually, the system tells the alt when and how much charge your truck needs , so there is one, if the system puts your alternator into over-load out put due to weak connection it will burn up your alternative. #2 then that either pushes to much into your batt. Or even the weak connection with no voltage getting to it will kill the battery also.# 3 now al this could be me talking out the side of my neck if the belt broke, if it did replace and hope for the best. If not, check connection @ batt. If loose get ready to replace batt. & alternator. Trust me if you don't do both you'll regret it. I have second guessed this twice and twice been stuck. Have a Great Day and Good luck.
