It's possible the fuel pump is not providing the fuel pressure required to keep the engine running. I suggest investing in a fuel pressure gauge from a local auto parts store or simply take to a repair shop and ask that the fuel pressure be checked at the fuel rail. If you do your self it's very easy, look online for instructions or follow them in the repair manual. Haynes is best in my opinion. Depending on the model of truck your looking for 35-45 psi at the fuel rail. Again this spec is determined by vehicle make and model engine size, it's in the repair manual.
