Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My dodge ram 1500 truck is leaking
antifreeze from a hose. This is after I have
replaced the radiator, the top radiator
hose, the thermostat, and the water
pump bypass hose. What could be the
problem?

It started leaking from the upper radiator hose so I replaced that, now it is leaking from the hose that connects the radiator to the extra engine coolant bottle behind the radiator.

Was trying to find out why it's going from one hose to another. Pressure problems?

Probably just coincidence, sounds like it all should be looked over, the leak is going to show up at the weakest point.

My Dodge Magnum has had two replacement radiators(under warranty) and the first time I could not find the leak and it never left coolant or water in the driveway. Finally I left it running once and while looking all around the radiator I got sprayed with a super fine mist that I couldn’t see but felt and tasted(yuck) and when I shut the car off it stopped. The dealership reported that there was a pinhole leak at the neck where one of the hoses connected. This almost exact same thing happened again, so that was two replaced. Them there was yet another super slow leak and they said it was the condenser. They replaced that too and it seems fine now. Problem is most customers would never know they were running low on water, as my car never gave an indicator on the temp gauge, just fine one minute and then bam, chime goes off, temp gauge in the red. Add water. But it is possible that if the water level is low enough the water pump can ruin its inner seal and bearings since there is no water running through it to keep it cool. Sure enough I have had to have one replaced. So there is obviously an quality control issue when those parts are brazed together and the seal degrades over time and that pinhole leak just waiting to happen just needs time.
