WHAT SHOULD THE OIL PRESSURE FOR A 6 CYLINDER BE AT ?

I CHANGED THE OIL PUMP AND THE PRESSURE IS AROUND 40  DOES THAT SOUND GOOD FOR MY 6 CYLINDER 1500 DODGE RAM PICK UP

40 is not bad in most vehicles you see from right about 40 all the way up to in some cases 80 it all depends on the vehicle

That engine will produce between 20 and 70 psi depending on engine rpm and temperature of the oil. Viscosity will affect this some as well. When oil is hot and thin, idle pressure will be on the low side. Cruise should be between 50-60 at cruise when hot. What are the conditions under which you're seeing 40 PSI? Good Luck!

I also have a Dodge Ram 3.9 L the oil pressure usually hovers between the 40 and 110 mark. I would assume this is good pressure? Hope this helps

Started at 70 now ideling it's right above 20

My 2010 psi at 33-34 when driving and at 12-16 when idling what could be cause of that recently had head gasket changed
