2000 F150 4.2L misfire
My truck was running fine but gradually began
running rough. O'Reilly's checked the codes and
got the following:
p1518 intake runner control, p1000 obdm, p1285
cylinder head over temp, p0401egr flow
insufficient, p0171 bank 1 too lean, p0302 cyl2
misfire, p0304 cylinder 4 misfire, p0305 cylinder 5
misfire
I replaced the Maf sensor and cleaned the intake
and it ran MUCH better and back to 100% power,
but still had a very slight vibration. The next
morning I started it and it ran a little rough again.
as I drove it deteriorated to the point I had to have
it towed home.
I know it's old but it has been well maintained up
until this last year and ran like a new truck. Gas
mileage was great and never had any real issues
until now.
It still starts and runs but is very rough. I'm a single
parent and can't afford throwing alot of money at
parts that may or may not solve the problem but I
am technically inclined and can do the work
myself. I've been reading these forums and seen
answers all over the spectrum so that's really not
much help. If anyone has had a similar problem
any insight would be appreciated.
