I used to get 38-40 highway. That is an honest, all-the-time number for over 177,000 miles. The rust control was non-existent back then, so I sold the car for $500. The person who bough it went to 200,000 before the floor pans collapsed.   At this time, there had still not been one single engine repair on the vehicle! Only a clutch,  CV joints, and replaceables like brakes. Wish I still had the car!
