Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1987 ford ranger 4x4 with the electronic touch drive 4x4. the touch drive lights are really dim when you turn the key on, i think the touch drive is broken, is there a cheap way to bypass the touchdrive buttons to make it to where you can only put it into four wheel drive with the hubs.

Idk if you ever got this fixed but it could be the vacum pump that engages the 4x4 diff. and drive shaft components could be faulty. happened to me a few times
