does any one know any little tips or secret6s to getting a 2.9 to fire took out distributour out and thoght I got it TDC but I don't know

You may have a problem with your ignition module. Ford used TFI ignition in these and they were notoriously bad.

take your ignition module out and get it tested put a new pick up coil in too put your timing to tdc on your pully under the water pump make shur that your number 1 spark plug lines up with your rotor under your rotor cap put your timing mark on tdc you shur get a start
