I have a transmission out of a 1987 Ford F150 with transfer case will it work in my ranger? The vehicle I bought it out of has a 302 and my Ranger has a 302

Would an adapter plate work with the 302 and ford f150? Becauses I'm going through the same trouble with the same died ranger and transmission. I can't find one at all..
