Carb is not letting the fuel through

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the mechanical fuel pump with an electronic fuel pump, it pumps all the way up to the point where the hose goes into the carb but no fuel is getting into the carb/engine. The engine will start if I pour a bit of gas into the top of the carb but once that runs out the engine dies again. Any ideas on what to look for... there are a LOT of vac-tubes running into around around the carb and I do not want to mess anything up fiddling with it... yet.

The Vehicle is a 1988 Ford Festiva 1.3L 4 cylinder engine.

one of three things is going on here , #1 you might have a inline fule strainer on your carb that may be cloged #2 your flote in your carb is way out of adjustment and not letting any fuel to the bowl #3 you have dirt up in your flote needle seat and it s probly the first or lastone unless you have had your carb apart then you could have bumped your flote knocking it out of adjustment
