I have a 88 s10 while driving the motor sounds like it's chugging like its out of gas but more of a misfire I think but when I stop with out putting any pressure on the gas pedal it dies fuel pump was

Did you replace the fuel filter ? Also sounds like the fuel injectors maybe dirty add some injector cleaner to gas tank clean throttle body and use some middle grade or high test gas to help clean out the gum and carbon build up.
