Thank You! This one looks factory it even has the formed interior piece intact. do you know how I could get any more info on this? I only found one repair replacement worm gear for the sunroof motor, it was in brooklyn at Cristal Automotive. At the time it was supposedly the last one in the states.

they are profesonaly put in to make them look stock, theese guys are good at doing this,as where to find parts, you would have to find out the owner at the time it was installed to find out where it was done, like sais after market kits.

Yes they did put those in factory, same as t-tops. I had a 79 with the factory moon roof which is the steel panel, and it was also offered in a sunroof a glass panel with a movable interior panel. If you can find an owner's manual it shows instructions for operation, they even came with a crank in case of battery failure that was inserted through the headliner via a small round plug near the switch. Mine had a clicking noise and became difficult to close.

Yes, I currently own a 1978 Monte Carlo Landau which has an electric sunroof/moonroof option It was an extra cost add on option for that year. You could also order T-tops that year too.

My 78 Landau had the factory powered metal moonroof. I loved it. If anyone has a 78 or 79 for sale with one, I'd love to talk to you.
