1976 is a 2nd gen Monte Carlo, the 78 is a 3rd gen, so there is a style change between the two. 3rd gens are 8" shorter on the wheel base, and 6" narrower than your 2nd gen Monte. You need to stick between 73 and 77.

For those of you who do not know 76-77 Monte Carlo they are the same no other year can match that year the body style is different the parts fit different so don't think you can put those two together only one that can be put together is 76 and 77 they are the same if you are real Monte Carlo Rider you should already know this if you have a 350 motor and the other Marty Carlo have a 350 motor yes they will go together in a Chevy 350 motor with go with it but body parts no
