Transmission fluid change

Asked by M2099 Oct 11, 2018 at 04:04 PM about the 1967 Chevrolet Impala

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I emptied the trans fluid in the pan but
I'm not sure where to add it. I have a cap
under the alternator that says trans fluid
but when I open it it's full so should I
start my car with the pan empty to cycle
the fluid or add fluid in the dipstick??

That makes sense since the pipes exiting that reservoir leads to the firewall where the brake booster is that.
