serial number, vin

There should be a vin tag located on the drivers side part of the cowl near the hinge. There should also be a tag on the front part of the drivers side door. http://www.60impala.com/taglocation.htm

ok I read the serial # tag on the Drivers side door jam and understand all for letters and numbers, but to check the authenticity on the numbers and letters is there another location with these numbers? I t is on a 1958 Impala Tag Reads: F58S100001
