What engine should I buy?

I'm looking like for a cost friendly engine for a 1986 chevy
blazer any options I should look for.

Unless you are buying a used engine from a trusted source that has a guarantee it is probably the more expensive option in the long run. A new engine will have a warranty and if the mechanic provides it you should also have a labor warranty.
