Moisture inside windows - Toyota Corolla (2004)

Asked by Guru9D6KJ4 Nov 16, 2020 at 02:13 PM about the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi :),
My mom has been seeing
moisture inside her windows, and
there is no water inside that she
can find. As a little background,
here are the most recent events
with the car.  Recently there was a
mouse nest discovered in the ac
area, which has since been
cleared and cleaned. There was
also some water in the back on
the floor (passenger side)
recently, but that was checked by
the dealer who then unclogged a
drain. (Sorry, I am not car savvy so
speaking in simple terms!). Last
year, there was a sunroof leak and
she had that taken care of at the
dealer ($2,000 later), which is why
she had taken it back recently
when there was water, and that is
when the mouse nest was
discovered. She then (for cost
reasons) took it to another local
mechanic for the nest situation.
But we still have the moisture
inside. Could it be that the sealant
is wearing out, since it is a 2004?
Any suggestions? Thanks so
much in advance - Sharon D.

Moisure inside the windows mean there is water in the car. Remove the floor mats and check the carpet, my guess is it's wet. Clear all the debris from the front windshield cowl where the wipers are. Usually leaves and dirt clog the drains. Open the hood if you have to help remove it. The window seals might also be faulty. It's hard to say with being there to inspect it.
