MY 2006 camry wont shut off. The key comes out. its in park. ???

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has automatic start.  Went out earlier.  Everything was fine.  Drove home.  
pulled into driveway, put it in park, turned key.  removed key.  engine still
running

Nick here. There was a short between the remote start and the ignition. So if I simply start car with the key...it will shut down. If I use remote..I must also shut it down with the remote. Cannot intermix the 2 like I have done for the past 6 years. Time for a new remote start.
