No spark

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Coil ignition control module and pickup coil check
fine. New cap and rotor, starts sometimes and runs  
fine. Leave it overnight and get a no spark
situation. Any ideas welcome. S10 4x4 w code

Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor. I would scan the computer and check for a P0321 code. What happens if you have a sensor fault ,the computer doesn't know when to fire the plugs. It's located on the bottom side of the timing chain cover. Hope this helps.
