How to fix headlights on my s-10

!996, 2.2l, headlight switch has been changed and tested good. The guy i bought it from said they just went out(onlyDRL's work). So he has driving lights on a toggle. I need to know if there is a common problem with these lights and how to fix them. Thank        You
