4.3L s10 not firing

Asked by GuruHXMVM Jul 14, 2019 at 06:09 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet S-10

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Chevy S10 that was running
when the motor locked up. I rebuilt a 4.3L
then pulled the bad one out, installed the
rebuilt one. It has a new crank sensor,
distributor, plugs/wires and coil. Upon start
up the engine turns over but will not crank. I
am getting power to all sensors and signal
from crank sensor but it is not firing.

Maybe you don't have the right battery for it. If it cranks but cannot finish you may have cold amp issue possibly. I have a 5.8 gas in my pick up and it takes at least 650 cold amps to operate in normal conditions.
