Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving at night when the dash gauges and lights
went dark. I pulled over turned the vehicle off and it wont
start back up. When turning the key there is a fast clicking
sound and the gauges flash quickley. The battery
connections are tight and there is no corrosion. Help!

Thanks Tom, I did replace the battery all together after a failed jump attempt. The car did start, however, once the cables were removed the car immediately died again. I’m going to have the alternator tested in the morning. Any additional comments or suggestions are always appreciated!

Had the alternator tested. It’s only putting out 11V... so yeah, I need a new one. How long until this alternator drains my new battery?

Nice! Guess I’ll find out in the morning when I put the new alternator on. Wish me luck!
