car key / starting the engine

Ford focus 2007. sometimes the car key wont start the car, it stops the half way before ignition ...  the contact(power) turns on but when it comes to start it stops(like locking itself in the car lock)?

sonds like a bad keyswitch,or passlock is on,check with ford deler to unlock passlock system,if you have a manual,it will tell you how to unlock it,if that is the problem,i would try that first.
