difficulties with first start, during the winter specially
AUDI A6/2.5 TDI,
Allways, first start of the engine (in the morning), is very difficult, specially during the winter season. Sometimes, it's not possible to start the engine, usually below -5°C, using alternative sources only (another car, pulling or pushing the car). Is my battery of 75A sufficient or I need "bigger" one? Usually, more powerfull batteries are with bigger dimensions, so it's not possibble to place it (under the rear seets). Thank you in advance, Ylber from Prishtina, Kosovo.
Sounds like there are not enough CCA's or Cold Cranking Amps in your battery. You need a more powerful battery.
I notice you said it is a 2.5 TDI... when was the last time the filters were done? (this question is for if you crank and it won't start). My old teacher had a Audi (not sure what the model was, but it was a diesel. she had almost the same issue, turned out it was a battery cable (not sure if it was the + or -, and the battery tray itself. they were changed and for the next 4 years that I knew her she never had this issue again.
Hope this helps
it sounds like it is a problem where your battery doesn't have enough CCA's like littlehorn stated.
how many miles has it done?
