No information on license plate bulb change. Only has a list of everything else, how to change, but says "if lamp not listed take to dealer." What a rip-off

They are screws, with a Torx head. They are going into plastic, so more than likely the holes are stripped. You will need to put a knife blade or similar under the screw head to pry out while turning, but there isn't a lot of room. I know this from recent experience. Bulb holders are in a rubber grommet, so some wiggling is needed to get them out. Suggest shimming the hole with shrink tube when re-installing the screws. Plastic won't take a lot of torque.

I have just done it. It is an absolutelkly Mickey Mouse arrangement. Had to remove the entire chrome assembly off the door that holds the license plate lights, which entails first removing the inner liner of the door. Hours of work. The problem is the the screws holding them in place screw in a plastic anchor which spreads when you screw in the screw, exactly like an anchor used for a plaster wall. Over the years the expanded anchor takes a set, and the screw doesn't grip the threads, and the screw just turns. When the assembly is off, you can pinch the anchor onto the screw, the screw thread then has a grip, and the screw comes out without any problem. What I will do next time is jut grip the head of the screw with a a pliers, and pull it straight out. Then you have to pull out the anchors to remove the whole light assembly. When you put it back, just push in the screw, i am sure it will hold. What i did though, is tied the the four anchors so the weren't spread, with fine wire, heated a cup of water to boiling and dropped them in tied, so they would soften and take a set "closed again like they were when new, and and screwed in the screws again. To put in a bulb once the light assembly os out and hanging by it's wires, you do not remove the lense. You twist the rubber plug at the back of the assembly, and withdraw the rubber bulb holder. Craftily molded on the back of the rubber bulb holder is a semi-invisible instruction as to which way to turn the bulb holder. Now i'm truying to figure out how to change the bulb in the courtesy lights in the interior of the the tailgate in case i ever have to, you have to pop them out to remove the inerior panel and inplug them, But hoe to open them and change the bulb is a rubic cube of a problem.

2006 saturn vue here, Also had to replace the bulbs after they went out While it does have screw heads that look like torx screws, these don't actually do much of anything, When you turn it it will just endlessly spin. I found the best way to get these out is to get a pair of pliers and gently twist and pull those screw heads, they will start to slowly pop out!
