Flywheel replacement

Asked by damselndistress30 May 21, 2016 at 07:34 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Bonneville

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My flywheel went bad and I want to replace it, but do I need to replace
my entire transmission to do that?

Would the flexplate cause that? I started leaking oil from the seal and was told to replace the motor. I haven't drove it since but I didn't think it could be fixed.

Flywheel and flexplate are often flywheels even though they are different.
