How do I get DVD player to have sound? It plays the movie fine,just cant get any sound to come out

somewhere between menu and select and select menu theres a (no sound/enable sound) selection...find the right menu that controls the picture and sound and say yes sound please on there-

We just got a 97 Silhouette and wondering how you change out the VHS player to a DVD player. Also how do you get the sound to work while it's playing
