Yes it can still have a cracked head problem. Let's just say the crack is not by an oil passage but cracked by the combustion chamber. The fuel combusting will push gases into the coolant system and crate a air pocket so to speak. The crack could be small and only a very small amount of coolant would get in to the combustion chamber so that the burning coolant would very very hard to notice or at all. But over time a enough gas could get into the coolant system to could the coolant to stall the flow and you will over heat

I have tried to give out number before and web site it blocks that post. Sorry. Best thing I can tell you is to get an adaptor so you can pump compressed air into the cylinders though the spark plug hole. Went pumping air in then rotate motor over till it will not rotate any more hold it their the compressed air will want to push the motor back. So hold it again it like you are still trying to turn the motor over. With the radiator cap off If you have an internal leak bubbles will come out the radiator where the cap goes. Sometimes with bigger leaks. The coolant will fly out of the radiator so be careful and stand clear of the radiator I have seen coolant fly ten feet in the air out of the radioator
