My car wont reverse

What is wrong if my 2002 lincoln town car wont go
in reverse but it well go forward

It is possible that you have a shift linkage problem. that would be the good news. You are going to have to get it looked at by a transmission specialist either way. You didn't say how many miles, but with a 17 year old car you could certainly have trans issues.
