sometimes it runs rough then dies and is hard to restart then when it does it has no power then it kicks in and runs smooth for a while

It sounds like it may be the catalaic converter, that is how my mother in laws ran, before gettin fixed

bad fuel filter cloged fuel injectors,try a can of seafome injector cleaner in a full tank of gas,it is not the cat converter.
