Transmission bowl right after new engin was installed on Kia Optima

Asked by Guru75TY4 Jun 05, 2020 at 04:58 PM about the 2014 Kia Optima

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recalled engine was replaced . The dealership took the car for a test drive
before we could pick up the car. Now apparently the transmission is blow
and, they want us to pay for towing back to the dealership, rental car and
parts . This seem so not right to me. There was nothing wrong with the
transmission when we brought it in. What do we do?

Question on your Kia engine issue. Did you have any early signs that it was about to go? My 2013 Kia Optima has been “jumping” while I drive and then shutting down either at red lights or when slowing down here and there. I took it to Kia for the recall, but they didn’t say anything about it needing repairs. They updated the software and the other recall issue and that was it. Did you have any issues like this before your engine went out? When I asked the service employee, they ignored me basically. I’m worried that by the time the engine does go, that something like the transmission will be damaged. If that happens, I would call the corporate line and possible seek an attorney.
