Infiniti i35 2002 stalling. Camshaft sensor?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My infiniti has started stalling out while driving.
SES message says it's the camshaft sensor, which
seems like a common problem, but 2 mechanics
have looked at it and told me the sensor checks
out. One recommends going to the dealer. Anyone
else had this problem?

Went to the dealer, they said cam sensor and crankshaft sensor. Wanted $899! Went back to my first mechanic and he said they would do it for $200. Ended up about $300 because he needed to replace 2 cam sensors. Running good so far since then.

There is supposed to be a recall on that because it says that engines could just shut down without no warning for the sensors. . You got had on that ..
