Oil smell coming through vents

Question type: General

I have a 2010 Toyota yaris. Last winter and this
winter, there is a strong odor (smells like oil)
when using the heat. I looked for smoke under
the hood, but can't see any sign of oil burning
on the motor. What could cause this?

I would suspect a leaking valve cover gasket but it could be other areas that are leaking oil onto the exhaust system.
