speedometer on and off

Every other day or so all of a sudden my speedometer starts to go on and off, the check engine light comes on and the "S" list stays lit...Any idea?

Hello, This could be caused by a few factors: a dying VSS sensor, fading speedometer, or faulty wiring. In any case, it is a good idea to have this checked out before any of these components fails completely. Best of luck! CarGrrl

it happened to me once and the mechanic said that the transmission sensor was the problem i changed it and it is well since that.good luck
