noise when starting out

Asked by gamasassy Oct 22, 2015 at 11:33 PM about the 2009 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband bought a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 truck last week. When first
starting out, it makes a rhythmic squeaking noise that last about 1 minute.  He
said it sounds like something  is trying to connect. Any idea?

it sounds like it could just be your serpentine belt that needs to be replaced. you can try spraying it with wd 40 to see if that is your problem. if the squeaking stops you found your problem. if not check the idler polie or the fan clutch. just some friendly advise

I don't think it is the AC clutch, I watched a video and the noise is not the same. I have the noise recorded but not sure how to post it on this site.
