My 2000 Odyssey that has 202,000 miles on it is having shifting problems. It is an automatic and seems better once the car is warmed up. It had a new transmission put in at 180,000 miles.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It seems to lurch when shifting gears until it gets warmed up and then it
almost goes away.  What could it be?

First thing is check the transmission fluid level and the condition of the fluid. 180,000 miles is quite a few miles for a transmission and it may be time for a rebuild. When was the transmission fluid last changed?

I had the same problem it was actually shifting very bad also missing gears. Every time it down shifted it never went back in first gear or and gears right I kept have to put it in neutral and then drive.pull both silonoids and clean the screens. The dual linear has 3 screens. Located to the top left of the battery. The other one is located under the throttle body.

The trans fluid has to be above the bottom dot. I would clean the silonoids !rebuildkng that trans is a honda scam!
