Where can proper tools be found?

Asked by migration_judge_roy Jun 27, 2013 at 02:27 PM about the 1953 Hudson Hornet

Question type: General

Was trying to advise a person who's never done a head gasket job on how to "tool up"
for the job and could only find the name brands "MADE IN CHINA"...but still emblazoned
with a familiar American name...alas was trying to recommend something that would not
break and send your knuckle into something that'd tear the skin...remember Lars Cats
had the scoop, and failed to punch it up as a favorite....now here's your chance:I'd
recommend trying Samstag Sales (http://www.samstagsales.com)~ thanks Lars Cats,
you da man~!

Craftsman. Can be bought on line at Sears.com/tools or at the Mall. ......Proto, Snap On

Really? I didn't know that and am very disappointed to learn it. Sheesh. I suppose we need to start paying China some of the money we owe them...

...yeah David, they started switchin' on account they make more money (to be competitive in the market), my dirty hinder, I say....www.nueskes.com I keep getting their PORNographic meat catalogs...makes a feller drool.~

every tool in that link courtesy of our fellow GURU Lars Cats (only pipes up when he feels like an authority) and a heck of a great guy~!...none chinese (really wish I had something nice to say here) but am reflecting on steamer ships that are so packed with Chinese goodness they want to make the friggin Panama Canal wider....what kind of economic pressure is driving this?....a sinister one who doesn't mind if a dozen or more Panamanians have to give their life to make it happen....sheeesh~

You know yesterday I was trying to help a feller with a Kia, and I went to download a Kia owners manual. FREE OWNERS MANUAL AND REPAIR GUIDE!!....and it sent me to a porn site, the "P" word .com. except it spelled it out, not "P" word.....only $29.95. Visa and M/C accepted for 48 hours of for our finest Asian, Black, or White, your choice

and no parts catalog...you guys said FREE...you know with porn they all make it seem so special and precious but do not acknowledge the boilerplate boredom from 15 seconds of high-blood pressure~ really tedious and popular...cant seem to keep the tongues off the keyboard~

no stop to the variations...let's not go there, getting into a slug-fest because you're sitting on Ole Jerry's stool....M'waukee tavern etiquette sit on someone else's barstool and get punched in the face~

What I was trying to do is see why they would need the Canal to get from China to LA/Long Beach Port

stock those wheeler boxes FULL of non-perishable durable goods...then sacrifice 12 or more lives to make the canal big enough for the super mega non-perishable haulers~

my neighbor says "Craftsman is MADE IN USA" it's cast right onto that~...well okay then~...wrong again judge...these things happen~

have to confess that a few "made in India" wrenches made their way into my toolbox~these are easily "picked on"...modified to make more clearances as a "disposable" wrench?

Gray and Snap-On are two very good brands, made in North America. Both carry life-time warranties, too. The ratchet handle I use for the heavy jobs is a Gray that is nearing 70 years old, and has never failed yet!

Price$57.45 you are insane way too much money HAZET Germany 279V-4 Adjustable Wrench 4" Long HAZET Germany 279V-4 Adjustable Wrench 4" Long

puttin' it into daily service, you don't want to mess around...will cost time and money...GO with the best you possibly can and do not cry whey you've lost one of your sockets in a VW Golf because you/they were in a hurry for the alternator repair~

I'm a fan of Craftsman tools too, but some of the line are now made in China too. Watch for the Craftsman Evolv line of tools. They are less expensive than the USA made tools, but do still carry the lifetime replacement warranty. They are carried at your nearby Sears store, and are also carried at K-Mart. Ace Hardware has started carrying Craftsman tools too, but they mainly carry the USA branded Craftsman tools. So we have a few choices for getting these quality tools.
