1998 GMC Sonoma SL turn signals will not work

Asked by Michael Mar 23, 2017 at 01:41 AM about the 1998 GMC Sonoma

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So on my way home from work tonight, I went to turn on my blinkers. Lo
and behold, they would not turn on AND my turn signals would not
operate. Shocker , am I right!? !

This affected my front and back blinkers. My hazard lights were affected
too when driving but when applying my brakes, both left and right arrows
lit up on my dashboard .What could possibly be causing this?

I would guess that either the bulb sockets or the directional switch is bad , but you'd need a tester to find out where the problem lies .Let us know what happens . Test the socket terminals to see if things are getting power normal then trace it back (forward)

Start with the usual. Ck. all bulbs, fuses, flasher. Sounds most like the flasher. Also if u ck turn sig fuse and its popped but you still have no turn signal but the 4 way emergency lites work ck for fuses blown on the unmarked section of fuse panel. Luck.
