Part number 6dc-3f642-bb...

Asked by sid May 18, 2017 at 01:31 PM about the 1999 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hammered a screwdriver into my ignition lock
cylinder, because I had to get it in run position to
get it out. When I pulled it out the tail (if you will)
broke off and is blocked by the part in the subject
line. How do I get that piece out of the steering
column?  pic is both ignition lock cylinders, shows
where it broke off... Thanks!!

To be honest the easiest thing to do is go to a dealership or shop and have them get it out. Ramming a screwdriver into the thing was the wrong way to go.
