I have a 2001 dodge van put new altinator in it . Then batter in it and cranked it twice it started then lost all power to the van . Switched fuses out still nothing disconnect the battery and wait awhile and reconnect it and it cracks but won't fire

You say you had battery out then put it back in? I know this sounds dumb but it is real easy to have flipped the battery in wrong, positive post on wrong end. I have done it myself and caught it. Positive is on the right as you face it. If you did this you probably fried a fusible link hopefully or master fuse.

Friends 2002 G/C : Eng cranks, Gauges act "wacky" Interior light not work. Ran a ground wire from Batt Neg to frame (any where except to the engine block) >First crank & it started right up, there is a ground 'strap' someplace under the battery compartment that is the real problem.
