When an engine runs too hot, there can be several causes. First thing to check is the coolant level (too low will cause overheating). Look for leaking coolant under the car. A bad thermostat can also cause overheating by restricting the coolant flow. A clogged radiator can also cause overheating (again, by restricting the coolant flow. Cooling fans not running can also be a problem. You will have to check each of these items to determine the root cause.

first, start with your fan in front of radiator ( to see if it is working warm up car really good maybe just go for a 3 mile drive, after your short drive put car in park just leave your engine running for about 15 minutes you should here the fan go on and off )if not going on and off you can start checking to see if fan is working by disconnecting the fan wire and hooking the fan wire ( NOTE THE WIRE FROM THE FAN ONLY) directly to 12 volt battery if it runs you know it is not the fan. then check your fuse box fan fuse make sure it is good if that is good then moats likely it is a fan senser unit !!! hope this helps Russ
