Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine starts for a few seconds and stops appeared to be a fuel problem I changed the fuel filter and no results so I changed the fuel pump, still no change.  What else could it be?

Security feature. Assuming u have a remote key to enter vehicle.... Disconnect battery + & -, hold terminals together for 5 minutes, this is called a capacitive discharge. It resets all memory. Hook battery back up. Unlock doors using key fobik, lock doors, unlock again start truck and your good. If you have a chip key theres a different procedure to get out of security mode. Call ford theyll tell u. This is only assuming your engine runs and sounds good when it starts. If it chugs or clunks or whines or whistles let me know. L8

Does it only do it at idle or while trying to stop at a sign or something but runs ok as long as you are giving it the gas? If so its probably the idle air control valve either dirty or faulty. Could also be the throttle plate needs cleaning.
