My 74 spider got water up to rockers during hurricane Matthew. Now it wont go into gear with motor running but will when turned off. Could clutch be stuck to flywheel?

That could be a possibility. Did you drain and refill the transmission and differential?

I have not. Tried rocking back and forth in gear. Also hit starter while in gear and car jumps. I can see in at clutch bracket and release bearing is moving ok. No sign of rust but can't see much through hole.
