My truck starts when you are on the key but when you get off it dies

My 76 f100 has a problem running. The truck
starts as long as the starter is running but as soon
as you let off the key the truck dies right away like
it had lost spark

sounds like the ignition switch is bad , it's not hard to do but you have to pay attention to details , you can hot wire the coil pretty easy to see if that is the problem
