Why does my headlight keep shutting off?

Asked by imissbby Nov 07, 2020 at 12:09 PM about the 2005 Acura TL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My left headlight keeps going out.
But if I turn the switch all the way
off and on it will eventually turn
back on. It goes out every
30seconds to a minute

The fact that it comes back on makes me think its shorting out. The right one stays on I assume? Focus your attention between where the wiring tees from off from the right headlight to go to the left

Its easiest to start at the problem issue (left headlight) and follow the wires back to where they connect

It is a HID headlight its more then likely time to put in a new Xenon bulb .Mine did the same thing tell I changed them

So I took it to a shop and found out the right HID bulb was not placed in correctly causing it to melt where the bulb screwed in. They quoted me $690 to install a whole new headlight. Am I getting ripped off? Is it easy to install myself? Is there a ballast for the left light and ballast for the right?

690 for a headlight replacement is a rip off! I say take it elsewhere somewhere u can trust.
