Question type: Car Customization

I'm about to pick up this 1970 4door nova 98k miles, I was
curious as to if you can make the 4 door nova into a muscle
car just like the 2 door nova? Or would that be to funky
looking, I'm talking rear lift, fat wide rear tires, blacked out,
tinted windows, purple head and tail lights, I just want to
know if I'm waiting my time with this 4 door, or if it will turn
out ok, I'm getting it for 1500 talked the guy down quite a
bit, has the original ugly green paint. But I plan on flat
blacking or flat black raptor liner, any ideas? Comments?

Have fun with it. You got it for a fair price. It won't be a muscle car till you drop a V8 350 into it and never be collectible. Just a nice fun driver.

You can bolt in just about any SBC you want including aftermarket 400+ cubic inch monsters. Clearly a 4 door is not as cool as a 2 door but I would not let that stop me.

250 six 2 speed power glide is what the guy says is currently in it, so I'm assuming it's the orginal in it correct? It's only at 98k maybe I can pull it sell it and upgrade?

What motor and tranny would you guys suggest? Somthing that's bad but wont totally kill the bank we can splurge though! Also what would you guys recommend as far as lifting the ass end up and how high. The ideal car would diff be a 2 door but idk it's kinda growing on me! Have you guys seen sweet pea the 4 door nova

I would look at crate performance SBC engines and a TH400 or a 700R transmission. Perhaps a 383?

Yes, the 250 is probably original. Nobody lifts the reared of cars anymore like in the 80's. Just replace the shocks with OEM and check the leaf springs to see if they are not rusted and broken.

I love my 1969 4 door nova so much I named my daughter nova and mine is a little special too came with a stock 350/th350 and it is a California addiction so it has side gills just 49,000 original miles
