What rear differentials will fit in my car?

Asked by elliot1229 May 28, 2014 at 05:58 PM about the 1968 Chevrolet El Camino

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1968 Chevy El Camino. It has the stock GM 8.2" 10-bolt rear end in it. Will a GM
8.5" Rear end from a 1977 Chevelle fit in my car? What rear differentials will fit in my body
style?

The only way would be to change the entire housing, it would be cheaper than having some one changing the gears Best bet
