The Audi Q5 Sportback combines the capability of an SUV with rakish, coupe-like lines that give it head-turning appeal. The Sportback variant of the Q5 is all-new for the 2021 model year. Despite its fastback design, you do not lose much cargo space. It provides 24.7 cubic feet behind the front seats and 52.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded (compared to 25.1 cubic feet and 53.1 cubic feet, respectively in the conventional Q5).
The Q5 Sportback is available in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims. The entry-level Premium comes outfitted with 19-inch alloy wheels, S-Line exterior with performance-inspired touches, a massive panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable front sport bucket seats. It also comes with driver-assistance features such as lane-departure warning and blind-spot monitoring.
Moving up to the Premium Plus adds Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, a massive digital instrument panel that can show the entire navigation system. The Premium Plus also adds a heated steering wheel, a 360-degree camera system, and advanced adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with traffic. The range-topping Prestige trim adds navigation, ventilated front seats, a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, and a head-up display with traffic-sign recognition.
The Q5 Sportback is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in a mild-hybrid configuration. It makes 261 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). When properly equipped, this setup can tow up to 4,800 pounds, according to Audi. It also returns fuel economy of 23 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. This engine requires premium fuel.
Base MSRP for the 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback is $47,800 for the Premium trim. The Premium Plus trim starts at $51,000, and the range-topping Prestige trim starts at $56,500. The Q5 Sportback is backed by a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty.
