Even with standard features, this car is a good bang for the buck. Features such as sun roof, heated front seats would have enhanced the value even more. Too bad Chrysler decided to discontinue this car in 2014.Jan 14, 2021

I drive a 2010 dodge Avenger R/T in bright silver. We bought the car a little less than a month ago after trading our lemon Durango for it. So far all i can say is l love it! Is it a charger? no. Is it the fastest car in the world? no. But i see no reason in bashing this car like the dumb critics do, i guess frankly they dont like anything that isnt a camry accord or Hyndai theses days! I think the car is very sporty, it has an excellent sound system, i love the "mini charger" design, and just the ride in general is fantastic! I love my Avenger and i know most fellow REAL Avenger owners, not just some critic would agree.Nov 28, 2012

I like the look I just don't like the cheap plastic materials with which it is made. Deep sigh!
It is average on gas not great but not horrid either.

This is a beautiful car. Like new, 16,300 miles. This car has the SXT extras plus satelite radio plus automatic transmission. It has had a perfect maintenance record. A recent trip to Colorado netted 32mpg at 75 mph. Great price of $13,600Mar 31, 2011

Wow! Quiet smooth ride. I live on a gravel road and could barely tell I was driving on it. Handles curves with ease. Easy to handle and very easy on the eyes. Lots of room on the inside and very comfy. Very fun to drive!Dec 24, 2009

No start no crack and no power from battery
Hello my 2010 avenger battery died when i was leaving work i tried to start and no start no crack and no power from battery. I left for work at 5 am car started fine then went on lunch break at 12pm car was fine still . Well when i came out at 4pm to leave car wouldn't start like battery was dead. I got a jump (from the jumpstart piece thats under the hood near the fuse box ) and car started after 20 mins i drove 30 mins home and stopped at store on way home and left car running once i got home i turned off and try to turn back on immediately and no power so i look at battery and noticed negative wire was snapped so i got it replaced and still no power so i took battery to autozone to charge for about 3 hrs when i picked it up they said it was good battery took it home and put back in car and lights came on i tried to turn on and battery was completely dead again i tried to jump from another car and it started after 10 mins so i turned off after a few mins then tried to restart it no luck . everytime i put jumper cables on positive cable no lights no power at all but when i try from jump box lights come on and when i turn key it clicks but when on battery. Could this be the battery or something electrical ?

Heater not working
2010 Avenger. Heat worked fine one day. Was blowing cold air the next. Fiddled with the temp control knob and it started working. Now, it doesn't work at all, only blows cold air. Fillef with coolant. Both heater core lines are hot. No noticeae leaks. Any advice appreciated.

2010 Dodge Avenger SXT 2.4 L possibly multiple issues?
So this might be kind of long but I want to start from the beginning and give as many details as possible because I am about ready to push this car over a cliff. I purchased this car used (cash) a little over a year ago. It had 218k miles when I got it. It had a bad connector on the battery so my now ex-husband put in a self tapping screw to secure the connection and problem solved. Fast forward about 7 months, the car dies and starts back up but occasionally died/lost power while driving. Bought a brand new battery. Didn’t fix it. Changed the alternator, problem solved everything is good. Fast forward another 6 ish months, car starts having this issue where the engine goes in limp mode, it won’t accelerate over 20mph and sometimes it just powers down while driving. Then it started having an overheating issue (changed one of the thermostats -it has two- and problem with the overheating solved). Went to autozone and used their code reader thing and it threw a code PO455 Evap Large Leak detected! Had no idea what this was but car was still getting me where I needed to go, it was just annoying me the way it was running. Left it alone and went about my business! A few weeks later when the check engine light was on again, I had someone I know use their code reader and it threw a code P0420 catalyst 1/1 efficiency. So I knew it was something to do with my catalytic converters (I have two on my car) but when I googled this code it said it could be 02 sensors or other things so idk at this point but I kept driving it as I needed to. So constantly dealing with limp mode engine, not being able to accelerate/drive over 20mph/having to stop multiple times and restart the car! THE ISSUES SEEM TO REVOLVE AROUND THIS RED LIGHTENING BOLT ON DASH! Sometimes solid, sometimes flash but if this lightening bolt is ON car runs like crap and usually won’t accelerate/is in limp mode. Getting the car to start without that red lightening bolt being on seems to be key! So now, two days ago, I left to go somewhere, got to the end of my street and the car dies just like it always does, except this time it doesn’t start back up and even acts like the battery is dead although it wouldn’t start with a jump either. There’s so much mixed information and everything I’m seeing online about this car with the red lightening bolt points to the electric throttle control system BUT it throws a code for the catalyst system and several people have told me if there’s issues with the cats, it would do the same thing it is doing now, so I am unclear on where to start! Please help!
